Street Photography

Street Photography says nothing about what your shooting just the playground your in, not a type of photography.

The words "Street Photography" to me is the same as saying "Studio Photography". Neither of these say anything about what you are shooting.

Every time someone tells me they are a "street photographer" I always have to ask, so what do you like to shoot on the street? 80% of the answers are architecture related. But yet, when I ask people what they think street photography is, they say catching people on the street. Uhm, is that not lifestyle?

I guess a lot of this is subjective. However, when I tell the same people I like Studio Photography, they give me the exact same blank stare I gave them.

Studio, Street, Aerial, these are just our playgrounds, what we like to shoot is within them.

Example of some Studio Photography

  • Product Shots
  • Fashion
  • High Speed
  • Green Screen
  • Macro

An here are some examples of Street Photography

  • Lifestyle
  • Editorial
  • Events
  • Sports
  • Architecture

As you can see, there are many types of photography, but saying Street, just merely implies where and how you like to take your photos.

ok, thanks for reading my rant.....
